How will a car sharing scheme reduce the congestion in Dyce?

In August and September 2006, a survey of Dyce commuters was carried out. It found that of those surveyed, just over 60% drive alone to work, with around 45% of these saying they would consider sharing if a suitable partner could be found.

Wait no more.

From the 2001 Census and other surveys done, the number of commuters into Dyce varies between 17,000 and 23,000 per day. Using the lowest figure and calculating from the information given in the surveys, it seems that over 5000 people would like to share their journeys into Dyce if they could find someone (or two) to share with. Just think what a difference that would make – over 2500 cars less on the road during the peak hours!

Each individual who signs up will reduce the cost of travelling by sharing costs and will contribute to the well being of all who live and work in Dyce.

That must be worth a bit of inconvenience!
